You may be able to. But it would be a bit like using a sledge hammer to
crack a small nut.
There are some rather good programs/utilities "out there" that are designed
"Only" to do just what you want...and even publish it to the Internet at
the same time....check out the LINKS > Webcams on my web site. The one I
use is webcam32, there are many good ones available my site list just a few
of them.
I should add calling it WebCam software is obviously a hang on from days
gone by, Surveillance software might now be a better description.
