Real slow reload of pages from Ebay on back button

Sorry if this has been done before.
Pages on item list at ebay slow slow to reload when I hit the back button
from viewing an indivudual item.
Okay when IE first starts, but gradually worsens till wait time gets to 4 -
5 seconds.
Internet connection running at normal speed. Delay is AFTER data received
and internet activiety has stopped - PC seems to 'think about it' before
displaying page.
I have run both Spybot and Adaware plus virus Checker and found nothing
untoward.
Have also duplicated sequence simultaneously with Mozilla Firefox which
displays almost instantly - so have concluded that not is not a prob with
eBay's site
I'm Running XP SP2 and IE6 with 576kps Broadband.
Many thanks in anticipation...

Why? Have you made Firefox use IE as its User-Agent
and also disabled ActiveX on IE? (I understand that Firefox
does not support ActiveX and guess that ebay will still be using
it for IE browsers.) A related test would be to use maximum
prompting with both (assuming that's possible with Firefox)
just to check how identical the processing is for each browser.

Good luck

Why?
Downloaded Firefox in desperation since IE became so slow [need to browse
those auctions quickly!] and I'm not comparing them for any academic reason -
if I can get IE going again Firefox can go back in it's lair.
I'm off to try disabling Active X to see if it does the trick ...and will
report back

My wife has had the same problem for several weeks now. I have tried
everything I could think of and nothing has improved it permanently, only
for a short while. We share a DSL connection through a Linksys router,
doing the same searches on my system seems to work fairly well, about as
expected. Only difference in the PC's is mine is a P4 2.4 and hers is a
Celeron 2.4.

I had something similar.
As your problem worsens over time it looks like continuously growing files.

Have you tried re-setting your Internet Options > Temporary Internet File >
Settings from o Always to
o Automatic?

Also Internet Options > Advanced > Tick
In Browing
o Close Unused Folders In History and Favourates

In securiyty tick
o Empty Temporary Internet Files When Browser is closed.

Curious if this works for yoy too!
