Urgent! Need Help - pages viewed in internet explorer is extremely slow!!!!

I have an old Pentium 166 MMX Computer with 64 MB of
memory. I am using internet explorer 6 as my browser. My
operating system is Windows 98 second edition

The problem that i've encountered is all the webpages that
i've viewed in it is very slow. Very slow in terms of:

1) When I scroll a webpapage down, it took 5-10 seconds of
delay before ie6 moves down that page although that page
is completely loaded. (even if it is just a one window of
internet explorer running, and no other program is running
on the background)

2) When I fill forms in some website (mostly on yahoo!)
I took 5-10 seconds just to display a single letter on the
text box. (It took probably 40 seconds just to type "hello
World". (Each letter appear every 2-6 seconds on the
textbox) (imagine that when im composing an email!!)

I did some troubleshooting and research on the net on some
possible solutions but all fails and did not fix the
problem:

*I already downloaded all critical updates and fixes in
the windows update site

*I updated my virus definition files and scan my computer
for possible viruses.

*I scan my computer for all stealth programs that is
detected by Lavasoft Adaware (latest definition)
considering they might slow the internet connection.

*I do some test on other browser and found that surfing on
them dont have problems that i've encounter on internet
explorer, so i concluded it might be on the software (ie6)
itself.

If there is anyone who has advice on how to troubleshoot
this problem and makes my surfing on internet explorer 6
more faster, please email me some solutions.. thanks in
advance.

Thank You all guys!!!!!!

Have you considered buying a new computer? Seriously, a P166MMX with 64 MB
of ram is at the bottom of the list of slow systems. Windows 98 needs a
MINIMUM of 64MB of ram to qork properly and 128 would be even better. Try
to eliminate any unnecessary programs running in the background, do a defrag
of your harddrive and shop for a new system.
