Real Player Problem

Steve

Since I installed Real One Player, Windows XP seems to be
continually running in the background, as the egg-timer
icon is always flickering (even when I don't have any
other software running). Someone said that this is a
fault in Real Player. What should I do? Should I
uninstall and then use System Restore to go back to my
previous settings. What is the best way to uninstall
this? Thank you for your time. Best wishes,

Steve

Open Real Player, and access its TOOLS|PREFERENCES menus. Go through
every one of them, and UNcheck or disable options for auto-updates or info
reporting. Also disable it for file types that are to be handled by other
players.

Real Players are aggressively marketed. It's up to the user to configure
them to taste.
