is it possible to play a real audio file with windows
media player? i have a real file that i would like to
hear, but am not allowed to add any software to the
machine i am on. Quicktime player and Windows Media
Player are available on it though.

No, not possible. You must have a compatible player or RealPlayer
itself. The WMP does not play RA or RAM material.

No it doesn't You need Real Player or another third party substitute
for it
