Reading View on Word Doc

When I open Word docs in outlook, they automatically open in a reading view,
rather than a normal view, and a one page document loads over about 36 pages!
This is most frustrating!!! I have been looking in the word forums and they
talk about accessing normal.dot thru the tools/options path but I cant seem
to open the template through this option. Any ideas on how to change
things?

This does not happen when opening word docs normally.

It's a Word option as Outlook is not responsible for how attachments are
being opened by their application.

Anyway in Word;
Tools-> Options-> tab General-> Allow opening in Reading Layout
