Reading pane disappears when switching folders (OL 2003)

My reading pane opens on the right (as selected) when first starting Outlook 2003.

However, when I switch to Sent Items, and then switch back to the Inbox, it disappears. Once reset, it doesn't happen again until the next time I start Outlook (usually after a shutdown or reboot).

Anyone else having this experience?

Haven't see this. You can reset all your views back to default though and
see if it still happens afterwards. To do this start Outlook from the
Start-> Run command with the /cleanviews command like swith.

Thanks, but still happens, even after reseting per instructions below. Worse, it's intermittent.
Oh well, I'm sure SP1 is around the corner
