latest inbox message disappears when i switch folders-GONEcomplet

latest (top) inbox message disappears (GONE--can NOT find anywhere) when i
switch folders, doesn't matter if it has been read...when i go back to the
inbox, the same thing happens to the top message that rotated there when the
1st one disappeared. NO ONE i've talked with has ever seen this happen...i
desperately need to stop this...HELP, please!!!

Make sure you don't have a filter applied to your view to show unread items
only.
