Reading mini CD rom disks

I have a cd rom drive and a cd burner. I have always noticed a slight
depression in the center of the drive tray that would accommodate a mini CD
disk. I now have several mini CD rom data disks, but notice that they
cannot be read from Windows XP explorer. Please advise how these disks can
be read and if not, I wonder why the drives have a depression in the tray
for holding them. Thank you, William Patton

I use LG burners and they do not recommend putting these in their trays
although there is, as you said, a slot for them. I guess it is because they
fear they might not be carefully put in and might jam the drive; I have used
them to record small amounts of data etc and have never had a problem
reading or writing them within XP Pro or Nero..
