Reading CD-R's

Hi,
Can any one help me? My cd-rom driver wont read cd-r's. I should add, I dont
know much about this kind of thing. Is it possible i need some sort of
application to use cd-r's...
Any help is greatly appreciated.. Thank you!!!
 
Hi - CD-R is just a CD, and Windows can read it. How were the CDs created?
Can your CD player read, say, your W2k CD? A music CD?

If someone burned a CD by using packet-writing (i.e., drag/drop in Explorer)
this usually doesn't work well when other computers try to read it....

....but more info is needed to help.
