Read only Shares

I have 2 computer with the same problem Both are running Windows XP w SP2 as
members of a domain. When you create a share and no matter what permissions
you set for a user (full or read only) the users get the read only message
when they open a file thru the share.

If you look at the properties of the folder it shows that the folder is read
only. If you clear the attrib and apply it shows it applies to all the
subfolders and files. then if you go right back to the properties it is back
to read only.

I have found a few things out on the web but am leary about appling them.
Looking for back up on it.

Can you point me in the right direction please?

You can use the attrib command:

But, this may not be the real problem. Make sure both Share and NTFS
(Security) permissions are set correctly.

Attrib didn't work (tried that before).
Played with the NTFS permission a bit more and it works now. Thank you very
much for the help.

Side question. Users on windows 2k didn't have issues connecting, just users
