I am using Windows XP Home Edition, have all the updates on too. I have a
Folder in 'shared documents' called 'Shared Pictures'. It sits in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Pictures
I have created this folder so that multiple users on this PC can write files
to a shared area and share pics.
For some unknown reason the 'Read Only' Attribute Check Box keeps checking
itself but not with a tick, it is with a green square. When I uncheck it and
apply to all subfolders, it appears to work but I still cannot create new
directories in this folder. When I go back to check, the 'read only' attrib
is the same.
The only way I can get round this is to go to the folder above (shared
documents) C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents and uncheckthe 'read
only' attribute. This does work temporarily but appears to re-apply itself
after letting me create a folder???
Does anyone know why this happens or how I can prevent it from happening
again? Help is much appreciated. Thanks
