Read-Only Problem For .adp

John Quest

Hi,

We have a Microsoft Access 2002 project (.adp file) that is
connected to a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database. There will be about 5
people using the program concurrently.

Whenever users 2-5 log into the system (after user 1 is already
logged in), they get a message box which states: "The Microsoft Access
project 'xxx' will be opened read-only because of one of the following
occurred: File locked for editing by another user, file or folder in which
it is located is marked read-only, or you specified that you wanted to open
it read-only".

Is there any way to make this message not appear? My users are
not interested in changing anything inside of the .adp file, they only use
the forms to make changes to the data that is stored in SQL Server - and it
allows them to do that with no problem. Perhaps this has something to do
with the way I have my connection to SQL Server configured?

Any help appreciated.
