Access Project Automatically Creates Files: adp1.adp, adp2.adp...

We are using Microsoft Access project (one for each user) to access SQL2008.
Lately, I found out that as soon as a user closed the access project after
using it, an extra access database (.adp) was automatically created:
adp1.adp. In other words, if a user got access to the access project say 5
times in any given date, 5 ADP files would be created: adp1.adp, adp2.adp,
to adp5.adp.

However, if an administrator gets access to the Access project and closes
it, there is no extra file created in the folder. Please help.

It could be that you do not have delete permissions and that the database is
set to compact on close.

Thank you Arvin for your help. I did change the database and set it to
compact on close. Now, problem solves.

I did change the database and set it to
compact on close.

You turned compact on close ON or OFF?

If you turned it ON, turn it OFF. Compact on close is a "feature"
that serves no purpose whatsoever and is downright dangerous. MS
never should have implemented it.
