Read Email and then Permanently delete it

I have a rule set up for certain contacts and I would like their emails to go
to a certain folder and permanently delete but not before I read them. Is
this possible?

Also, is there a way to not save my reply into my sent folder?

1) Rules are applied when email arrives, not when you read it.

2) Tools -> Options -> tab Preferences -> E-mail Options -> Message
Handling: uncheck 'Save copies of messages in Sent Items folder'.

No.

Before sending the message, click View>Options and uncheck the box labeled
"Save sent messages to".
