Re terminal keyboard and mouse

I noticed in system properties that I have the terminal service running
under services. Also says that I have terminal keyboard filters and
terminal mouse.

Can someone explain what this means? What is terminal service? I am
running Windows XP Home on a 4 year old PC.

service" brings up about 317,000 links. The first ones will probably be
