re-installing xp, cant get updates...blocked..???

got the initial xp installed fine, but updates are getting blocked...why.???
Security set to defaults..
 
You don't give enough info.
What is exactly happening?
Below is a link about updates after reinstall.

Also, when you 1st reinstall XP, go to Start>Programs>Windows Update> and
manually check for Express updates, or better still, go through the Microsoft
update process.
You will find that you have to download an updated Installer to get updates.
