Re-installing Windows XP

S

Stuart

My laptop has recently crashed and needs a new hard
drive - this means that my Windows XP Home Ed. needs to
be installed again. However, I have lost my Windows XP
CD - I still have the Booklet that came with it, and the
License / Product Key attached to the bottom of my
laptop. Does anyone know whether I can use another XP cd
to re-install and just re-register with my current
license / product key, or do i have to surcombe and fork
out on a completely new XP package?!!

If Windows XP came preinstalled on your PC, then you'll
have to contact the manufacturer of your PC and request
a CD replacement. Your Product Key will only work with
the manufacturer's CD.
