Re-installing Windows XP Professional

I attempted to re-install Windows XP. When set-up was almost complete, I got
the blue screen of death. Every time I re-start the computer a screen appears
saying continuing set-up. Technically, since Windows is already on my
computer, I went into the BIOS and tried booting from the hard drive to see
if it would boot, but nothing. It appears my computer is caught in a set-up
loop. Then, on my other computer I attempted to download the boot disk for a
floppy disk. I formatted 6 high density disks like the instructions say, but
when I try to download to the disks, I receive a message saying destination
folder is too small. I will appreciate all and any help or guidance you can
give me.

When you are re-installing - are you deleting the partition(s) (after
booting from the CD) and creating new ones?

No, I wasn't re-formatting. I was just simply trying to re-install
windows.

In windows XP terminology - that would be a "Repair Installation"..
