I get an error msg that says Setup encountered an error
while trying to set system security.
D:\386\NT5INF.CAT catalog file could not be found. Error
code is 1 This is a fatal error

I already tried to rename cdudf.sys file per Microsoft
help page but when I did it said that that file could not
be found.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Have you verified that D:\386\NT5INF.CAT exists and can be accessed? I
presume that D: is your CDROM and maybe its a problem with the CD and it
can't read the file. Just guessing.

Yes, I verified that it exists, thats what I can't figure
out. It mut be that my driver can't read it for some
weird reason.

I have run into the same problem. I have found that it is
a conflict with the Adaptec software on my Dell Inspiron.
It finds the cdudf.sys file but it denies me access. I
have tried to change the attributes but it still denies me
access. Have you had any success with the problem?
