Just to be clear on something, leaving out the new
hardware wizard will only prevent you from MANUALLY
adding hardware. You can still land the drivers in a
directory included in the DevicePath, then allow PNP to
install the device for you once it's attached to the
system.
I realize this is an old thread, but I'm trying to get the Found New Hardware Wizard to stop interrupting an installation of a driver (which for some reason won't install via the new hardware wizard itself). I have tried the solution mentioned here - deleting (or moving or renaming) the cpl and dll files mentioned - and it doesn't work. The Found New Hardware Wizard still pops up on its regular schedule: at startup and two or three minutes after I uninstall the device it keeps finding and putting on the device manager.
Any other solutions? How do I get it to stop launching that wizard?
