install nonPnP Device

Hi all

What is the best way to install a non PnP Device (Modem) through FBA?

The installation works fine, when I select the modem to install with the Add
Hardware Wizard.
Is there a way to call a script or something else, to do the same like the
Hardware Wizard?

hi, the only way I was able to install a non-PnP device with the FBA was
by specifying certain registry data myself (and that was the only info
anybody could give me too)
I basically exported those parts of the registry from a working win2k
version (HLM\system\currentcontrolset\enum\... and
HLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\class\...) and imported them with
the component designer
still haven't found a better way :-(

First check if this inf file is working on Windows XP.
I'm surprised that XPe does not install this inf automatically, since this
does not look like some software modem.

The modem is working, when I force the Hardware wizard to install the modem.
But it should be working after FBA.....
