Re-directing Homepage

K

Kayeman

Whenever I log back onto the internet after say a 3+
hours, or immediately following some housecleaning on my
pc, I get this message m/'>here. -- instead of my msn page
(homepage).

I'm running Windows ME, IE6, also use Spybot,Ad-Aware, NAV
w/live update.

When I see the message m/'>here. I immediately close IE
and my normal homepage loads. Also as this anonymous page
is loading -- at the bottom left of IE window where it
normally says -- opening xxx.com -- it is giving me an
address which always changes -- one was www.68.54.211.90

I've re-downloaded and installed the most current
Cumulative Security Update.

IE 6.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com

and:

SpyBot-S&D
http://security.kolla.de/

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
