Your XP CD is bootable. To achieve this you must enter the BIOS setup on
boot-up (press F2 when the message is on screen) and make your CD-ROM the
first drive to be read (normally the order is A:\, C:\ and then the CD-ROM).
Now you will be asked (during boot-up) to press any key to enter the CD-ROM,
otherwise it will boot-up with the second choice on your list.

Personally I would only change the boot-up sequence if and when it's
necessary.
