Re-applying a style: can we avoid the "Do you want to update...?"

We work with templates and predefined styles. When reapplying a style to the
selected paragraph, Word always asks if you want to Update? or Reapply? As
our users are not allowed to update styles, is there any way of deactivating
this choice or at least of having Reapply as the default option?

If this is Word 2002 or 2003, clear the check box for "Prompt to update
style" on the Edit tab of Tools | Options.

Thanks! Curiously we have been checking that option because we thought
"prompt to update" meant that the style would update automatically without a
prompt! In other words the exact opposite of what it actually does. Language
is a difficult thing sometimes!
