Thank you for that pearl. You could say the same thing for wave/mp3's, for
line-in, for microphone etc.
So what ?

| I coudn't hear my MIDI music that I've listen to in the
| past. Everything else was playing in the Windows Media
| Player correctly, but no MIDI sound even though it
| appeared that the file was playing. So after I inspected
| the "Sounds & Audio Devices Properties" > MIDI Music
| Playback > Volume > SW Synth. I found that I had muted
| the SW Synth volume at a previous date. I unchecked the
| mute box and all is fine again. Simple cure for a simple
| mistake on my part. Have a great day.
