RDP intermitant connections

We have a small network behind a wireless router with many hard wired
PC and no AD. We often connect to the one PC with a laptop using the
wireless.

This problem occurred out of the blue after working great for years.
Here is the problem:

The laptop had been connected last night to the PC and no problems.
Today the laptop will get a login to the PC and then a "Black" screen
with only the RDP bar showing at the top. It will display the PC logon
screen quickly just before going black. Then there is nothing
appearing for about 20-30 seconds and then the RDP just closes
completely without any errors.

The laptop CAN connect to all the other PC's in the network and other
PC's can RDP into the PC that the laptop is trying to connect to
without problems.

The PC does have Norton Internet Security active on it as it always
has. There have not been any updates or new software packages
installed on the PC since the problem occured.

Does the client computer have normal network connectivity over TCP/IP
to the Terminal Server? If other protocols are installed on the
client, you may want to remove them for testing purposes.· Can you
ping the Server? "Yes"
· Can you telnet to port 3389 from the Client to the Server? "Yes"
· Can you use the command "Net View \\computername" against the
Terminal Server and get a list of shared resources available? "Yes"

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

FYI...all of the computers and laptop are using XP Pro with the
exception of the 2 servers (but they are not using AD).
