RDP: Problem getting through the router

Mike Minor

I have RDP turned on in an XP Pro pc attached to a router. In the router, I
have port 3389 forwared to that pc's internal 192.168 address. I can access
that pc from through RDP from another pc attached to the same router however
I can not get RDP to connect from an external source. I suspect that I am
missing a setting within the router. The router is a Linksys BEFW11S4. I
have port 3389 forwarded under the Applications and Gaming tab, in the port
forwarding section. Does anyone know what I am missing in the setup here

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Look for the setting that says something like "Block Anonymous WAN
requests" and uncheck that box.

I saw that check box, but wasn't sure if it was part of the equation or not.
I will give that a try. Thanks for the tip.

Did you ever get this working? I am having the same problem with a Netgear
router.
