RDP 5.2

Jody Cohen

Hello All,

At one time there was a link on the Microsoft website for the RDP client
version 5.2 that came standard with Windows 2003 server. Now the only thing
I can find is the 5.1 version that shipped standard with Windows XP. I like
being able to direct my clients to the Microsoft website to download the
client but it's not there anymore. Any suggestions or ideas as to why it's
gone would be very appreciative.

Thanks,
Jody Cohen

is the latest version, which shipped with XP SP2 (version XPSP2
5.1.2600.2180).

5.2.3790 is *not* an upgrade from 5.1.2600.2180, as 5.1.2600.2180
was delivered as part of XP SP2, and 5.2.3790 was part of Server
2003, which was released *before* XP SP2. They just carry the
build numbers of the OS (5.1 = XP, 5.2 = 2003).

Hello,

What about Version 5.2.3790.1830 which is included (maybe not?)
in Win2003 SP1 Admin Tool Pack, see
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e487f885
-f0c7-436a-a392-25793a25bad7&DisplayLang=en#affinity

I found the version number in
http://terminal.servebeer.com/php/change_client_build.php
so, I am wondering if it is newer than the version from XP-SP2

arno

The AdminPak contains the Remote Desktops utility.
That is related to, but not the same thing as the Remote Desktop
Client.
