RCA LYRA USB problem

I installed all of the software with my RCA Lyra mp3
player and even updated it to the latest version, but my
Windows XP machine will not recognize it when i connect
via usb. The Lyra recognizes that it is connected but
Windows device manager doesn't detect it. If anyone
could help me with this i would greatly appreciate it!!
Thanks

That $100 Lyra MP3 player should be recognized by XP's plug&play feature
After you connect the USB connector, then push the power button on th
player, you should hear a sound that XP recognizes it. Then the Devic
Manager will list it. Also when you connect it to your PC, connect it
directly to the back of the PC and not a USB hub first.

Did you ever get this to work? I just bought one from Ebay and having same problem and cannot find the answer other than to add an SD card which is fine but a PIA considering I have 64 mg internal I can't use. Trust me, have tried everything - curious if you got it to ever work or what did you do? Thanks, Linda

If your using a high speed modem (DSL/Cable) your player has a device conflic.
Windows-XP does not show the device in contention with the player, but it's
in all likelihood
your modem.

1. Uninstall the Lyra software
2. Turn off your modem
3. Re-Install Lyra software
4. Plug player in and turn on, Your player will now be acknowledged by windows
5. Last step Turn modem back on and enjoy download of music
