RC1: How do you get rid of Uninstalled Programs?

If I uninstalled a program from Control Panel, and the program didn't
uninstall correctly for some cheap error reason, and then deleted the files
under Program Files and User Files, etc., but the Cheap ass Britannica still
shows in the Control Panel Programs on your System list: How does one get rid
of that program in the list AND make sure its removed from all other files on
the computer that the Cheap Ass Britannica uninstaller probably failed to get
rid of?

Your issue resides in registry entries
if your good and feel safe in the registry then edit the installer and
uninstaller keys
how ever if the program did not uninstall right
reinstall and remove it again
x your fingers
remember this is beta so the uninstaller may not work
If the program installed using a MS installer
then there is a tool that can help
keep in mind it may not work properly in Vista.

To remove from the Programs (uninstall) List--until a reliable registry
cleaner is released for Vista, open Regedit (from "Run" will do) and go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Go to the key for the offending product, and delete it. Reboot, gone from
List.

As for the leftover Cheap Ass files, delete it's folder, of course--but if
things are left behind in Windows, System, System32, etc, best to leave them
alone unless you are POSITIVE that a particular file was installed by your
Cheap Ass Program.
