RC1 An Upgrade?

I just received the RC1 DVD and I'm running the Vista Beta 2 now. Is the RC1
an upgrade or is it a full OS that will overwrite my current version. If so
I'll have to reinstall all my apps, drivers, etc. something I don't know I
want to do? Any suggestions are welcome.

If you start the install from within beta 2, you will have Upgrade as an
option.

KYLE,

If you run the set up from within windows it should give you the option to
upgrade as long as there is sufficient space (about 12 gig) on the hard disc.

Insert the DVD into the drive from your beta 2 desktop and run Setup.exe
when the autorun box pops up ;)
Select Upgrade when it gives you the choice.

Would not give me the option to upgrade from the RC1 DVD, had to "clean
install." I am a member of the Windows Feedback Panel. The RC1 DVD I
received is from that source.

Thanks, anyway. I am getting ready to go to Build 5728 in a day or so, so
maybe I will have the "upgrade" option from 5600 to 5728. We'll see...

Thanks for your quick response!

Hi John,

I just upgraded from 5600 to 5728 and, yes. it DOES give the upgrade option!
I started the upgrade from the desktop. Takes a long time though... I've
read somewhere that it's because it copies your applications and relevant
files, then updates the O/S and finally puts your applications back! Sorry
if you knew that already (being on the panel you may well have done!) but I
thought it worth mentioning!
