SATA Raid drives not found

I have RC1 which I downloaded on 27/09/06, but it would not install. I am
using an evga motherboard, an NFORCE4 SLI mainbord with an AMD Athlon X2
chip. The board uses an invidia chipset.

RC1 was completely unable to find my hard drives, which are in a SATA RAID1
configuration. The nvidia web site does not provide SATA drivers for RC1,
but has them for Beta2 of Vista. Since the nvidia Vista driver download for
RC1 does not include the SATA RAID drivers, I assumed the drivers were now
on the DVD (I had to download the drivers for Beta 2 from nvidia).

When I tried to install, no drives were found. I tried to use the Beta2
drivers, but the disks were still not found. I then tried to upgrade from
Beta 2 to RC1, but that upgrade attempt failed.

From reading posts on this group, it looks like this is an issue with both
Intel and AMD mobos

You are absolutely correct, this is indeed a bad problem with the installer.
I've heard through the grapevine that build 5731 cures this but have yet to
see a version of this to try myself.

Thanks! I've also tried 5728, which installs and runs,,, maybe once or
twice, then stops booting. I guess I'll tried 5731. So far, Beta 2 is
the best I've had for my equipment.

Strohi,

You have build 5600. The build number is right after the word vista.
