Razer Mouse & USB

As soon as I install my Razer Diamondback mouse, my system take about
7-10 to get from the Windows XP (black screen w/ the moving bar at the
bottom) to the desktop. Is this because the power drain from the USB
ports? Would getting a powered hub help?
