RAS users unable to authenticate to domain

Hello,

I am very new to this, so I am going to need some hand holding. I just
setup a domain and migrated everything to it just fine, however my RAS server
is not authenticating to the domain controller and or is not authenticating
to Active Directory.

The odd problem I am having is, if I stop RAS and then restart it, my users
can access it just fine, but say, an hour goes by, all of a sudden no one can
remote in any longer. They get to the point where it is verifying their
username and password and then fails.

I check the event viewer on the server and this is what the error message
reads:

"The specified domain does not exist". And it creates this entry everytime
someone tries to get in.

What are some basic things I should check either on the domain controller or
the RAS server to make sure I have everything configured?

Thank you very much!
Michael

Update-- I just discovered that while this computer is logging onto the
domain and you can view it in Active Directory, it is not seeing the domain
and or active directory.

For example, when I try to add a domain user to the local admin group, it
does not even allow me to change to the domain, it just allows for the local
machine, so for some reason its not seeing the domain. Any ideas wy?? :-(

we need more information to help. Since " this computer is logging onto the domain and you can view it in Active Directory" can we assume this is a member server? Regarding "it is not seeing the domain and or active directory", can you ping the DC by ip? if yes, can you pingit by nmae? I would check the DNS settings first.

Don't send e-mail or reply to me except you need consulting services. Posting on MS newsgroup will benefit all readers and you may get more help.
