RAS Setup Problem

N

Novice Techie

have just set up a Remote Access Server on W2K Server, and am attempting
to log on with an XP-Pro client via dial up. The client is able to log on,
and receives an IP address, but I am unable to reach any system resources,
and cannot even ping the server from the client.

Suggestions?

Also, can I join a new PC to the domain via a RAS connection?

Thanks!

make sure you have correct NAT/firewall settings. Also make sure you don't
block the ping. Posting the results of both ipconfig /all may help.

The IPCONFIG results are as follows:

DNS Suffix: <blank>
Description: WAN <PPP/SLIP> Interface
Physical Addy: 00-53-45-00-00-00
DHCP Enabled: No
IP Address: 192.168.1.108
Subnet: 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.100
DNS: 192.168.1.100
WINS: 192.168.1.100

Everything looks correct except the DHCP setting.

Trying to ping any client or even the server gives a timeout error.

Also. can I join a new PC to the domain remotely?
