ras dialup to access internet

I have xp connected to my cable modem to access internet I use as a home server, my computer (windows 98) is connected to it throught a standard hub and network card and all works fine (i access he disk disks and internet. But when I bring my computer at my sons place and i use my modem access to dialup i do connect with my home xp and i do access the disk but i cannot access internet i have tried specifing the gateway but does not work has anyone have had the similar problem and how have they solved it

Sounds like there is no "connection" between home XP's phone modem to cable
modem, I don't believe this is the right newsgroup for this question, you
might want to try networking specific newsgroup like
microsoft.public.za.widnowsxp.networking.
