After on-line surfing or email usage (Outlook Express) a
generic icon sometimes appears on my desktop. It's for a
small unreadable file (about 285KB). Any ideas about how
it gets there and how to avoid its appearance. Apparently
deleting it, which I do, causes no harm.

Hi Roberto,

I'm guessing it's the tilde (~) problem. This is a known issue from a recent
windows update. The file is harmless and can be safely deleted. It's
actually a copy of your address book. Microsoft is aware of the problem,
but no fix has been released yet.

It's a bug in outlook express and the address book. MS is still working on a
fix.

Thanks, now I'll sleep better.
