hi all,
in my laptop i have 2 ram slots both useing 512mb i would like to know if
you can get a connector that can allow me to have 4 slots. (a connector that
has 2 slots andc connects in to the one slot so one slot is transformed in to
2 slots(hope i aint confused you))

Not in a laptop - there's no space.
 
well, you can replace the board... but then it might be cheaper just to buy
a new laptop
 
I'm afraid it doesn't work like that. However, to find out whether your
existing slots are capable of taking 1Gb of RAM each, go to
http://www.lavalys.com and download Everest Home, which is free and very
useful.

Everest will give you a variety of information, including the maximum memory
your motherboard will accept.
 
Contact the laptop manufacturer. This has nothing to do with the Windows
XP operating system. (PS if the computer is less than 4 years old the
annswer is no)

You already got 1 GIG of memory in a laptop and you are wanting to add
more??? Why? What in the heck are you doing with that laptop.
