On my pc spec im suppose to have 256bit Ram but when i
check out system information or run dxdiag it says i only
have 196 bit ram.How can I make it 256bit again? Please
help. Thanks

Get EVEREST from www.lavalys.com It will report what you
have installed. It is possible you have a 128 and a 64 MB
RAM installed or you could have 256 with the missing part
being used (shared) with graphics.

You probably have an integrated video. That is where the missing memory is
allocated.

Hello

Well did your pc have 256 to start with, and are you sure
also maybe you could have a bad memory stick, or your
onboard video uses part of your memory. Also can you
provide your pc type or model, these are some things to look
at and if you provide your pc type one can better help you

The others have posted exactly what I would say, but I just wanted to
help you a little with the terminology since it gets so complicated.

What you mean to say is that you have 256 MegaBytes of RAM. It is only
showing 196 MegaBytes of RAM. Some memory modules do have 256bit memory
interfaces which is not the same as the size of the memory, but I don't
think there is a 196bit memory interface ;)
