disney pixar cars game not responding

Please help!!!! The Cars.exe Keeps answering not responding
however , i can play the game in multiplayer mode with my brother , but whenever i start story mode it crashes and answers cars.exe not responding ! ! !

Was the game a download or did you buy a hard copy?
