RAM Corrupted

G

George

My computer keeps stopping and giving the following
message: RAM containing Windows program code corrputed.
What's this all about and how do I fix it?
Thanks

First thing to do would be to test your ram as one of your ram sticks could
be failing:

Second, if you don't have the diagnostic disk that came with your hard
drive, go to the hard drive manufacturer's website, download their
diagnostic tools, make note of the instructions for creating a diagnostic
disk and run the diagnostic on your hard drive as it may be failing.

Both DocMemory from Simmtester and Memtest86, http://www.memtest86.com/ run
more thorough and rigorous memory tests than Windows Memory Tester.

Both are free utilities. DocMemory is used by many shops and most
manufacturers to burn in their systems and test memory issues.
