Radeon 9700 Pro revision...

Just thought I would let you all know, I had problems with my 9700 pro
at AGP 8x on an ASUS A7V8X. Lock ups/infinite loop error and screen
corruption on and off...

I explained this to my PC manufacturer and the replaced my mobo for the
A7N8X. I found I had the same problem.

I told them that older revisions of the 9700 pro had issues with AGP 8x
and the exchanged my card with a revision 3.0.

Everything seems fine now. No lockups in AGP8x mode, and no screen
corruption. Wahay!

BTW, Not a big problem, but now my 3D Mark score has dropped from around
4700-4800, down to 4456.
Any idea why that would happen with all settings the same after a clean
XP install?

Just wondering where you got that information about versions prior to
Revision 03? I can use that info with my manufacturer.
Thanks.

I'm assuming it's the number on top of the card....something on the
lines of 109-54523-30
My last one was something like 109-54523-10

Also in the Options tab of the advanced properties the BIOS for the card
was 8.003, and now it is 8.004

I had the same issue with the same setup.
I choose to return the card to the purchase place,
where they offer a 30 day no hassle return) and use the old 8500
This way it might force ATI to make sure their cards work properly
BEFORE they release them (There is no excuse for a card that cost this much)
