I have looked through all the posts i have given lately, and besides about 3
or 4 they have all been correct, and the incorrect part of it was that i got
the recovery consol confused with the repair from boot (but i still described
how to do it correctly)... the reson I did it is my Toshiba and Acer both
have recovery consol CDs as repair CDs...

Give it a rest, i'll keep looking at replies to my posts...

Dear Quintin:
Please realize that when experts with decades of professional experience are
complaining loudly that you are doing harm by posting the same 2 answers to
90% of the questions, you ought to take note.
I know you think you are helping, but you are only *trying* to help. With a
failure rate as high as yours, you are doing HARM. I don't know how else to
tell you. Why do you never acknowledge when you have given the wrong
solution? Why do you post CDO? Do you understand the concept of feedback?
YOU ARE DANGEROUS!

You are totally delusional, mad as a hatter, totally off your rocker,

It is not correct to recommend using Device Manager to remove or install
printers; printers do not show up in Device Manager at all.

Niether is it correct to recommend MSConfig for device driver problems.
Device drivers do not load like programs do.

It is also not correct state the the repair functions available in
Recovery Console are easy; it's all command line stuff and the average
Windows user is going to be completely lost in RC without specific, step
by step directions for specific tasks.

Mine does when I set DM to "Show hidden devices," but I agree with the
rest of it.

Unfortunately you are not helping and give bad advice. Lurk and learn.

Quintin may actually have some kind of brain malfunction or brain damage.
He seems to live in an unpoppable bubble.
I have no doubt that he will stay around until he is filtered out,
especially since he has the protection from reality afforded by the CDO
interface.
I don't consider 19 to be *that* young. A 16-year-old could do a lot better
than he does, as long as they had normal mental functions.

It's one thing to answer questions, altogether different having to run
behind him and make corrections or issue warnings to not follow his
inane advice. He has been asked/advised to think/read more and not
post these "Catch-All" solutions.

Actually, we should get him a job as a Phone tech with one of the
major OEMs. He has a couple of the "Pat" answers down pretty
good.

Unfortunately, he is of Andrew the Eejit's ilk - they don't like being told
they're wrong. In their eyes everyone else is wrong. Also, like Andrew the
Eejit, I don't think he's going to be going anywhere - I reckon we're stuck
with him.

As I've said to Andrew, several times via email, one day someone whose
computer he's ruined will track him down and sue him. I hope that happens as
it will (probably) be the only thing that stops him. Hopefully, someone will
do the same to this moron, too.

Looks like I have another permanent winner of the Moron of the Month
Award...

Well, this guy is not hard to find if anyone needs to. Address and phone
number easily traceable. Look at the site I gave last night and then do some
cross referencing with whitepages.com.au.

By the way, the rubbish about me being an old school mate is truly garbage -
I left school 50 years ago - and started my education. What about an apology
Quintin?

And I'm still learning, that's why I lurk in these groups. I reckon those
who give their time and expertise in these groups deserve better than having
their collective contribution damaged by this twit. And, those who ask
questions deserve the, normally, excellent responses.

I don't recall Andrew the Eejit's efforts, but I'm tempted to go looking.

I've not seen a printer even showing hidden devices but perhaps that's
because on the machines I've done show hidden devices had no printers
attached to local physical ports. Regrdless, Device Manager is not the
place to add, remove or start troubleshooting a printer problem.

Thanks,
Steve

Okay... i'll go... but all someone had to do if they thought it was wrong was

Look at the bright side Miss; you'll always have a target ;)

It is Andrew E, and he is far more dangerous than Quintin has been so far.
He has a real doozie in setup_deploy right now where he gives instructions
to reformat and reinstall to fix a simple problem. Without any warning given
either.

Andrew E (aka Andrew Eejit) can be found here:

He is nowhere near as bad as Quintin, but sneakier, since he does not repeat
himself, and you have to go over his posts carefully to catch the various
(sometimes very dangerous) mistakes.

Don't quit lurking. Just be careful with your answers. We all learn from our
mistakes. I've been in the business 30 years and I still learn new stuff
every day. I still make mistakes too. We all do. It pays to lurk in these
and other newsgroups. You will learn a lot. I've only been monitoring the
microsoft groups for a couple of months (didn't have time before) but I have
learned more here than if I would have spent the time in a classroom. The
combined experience of everyone here is an unbelievable resource. You'd be
crazy not to use it and learn from it. If you answer a question and someone
questions your answer use the experience to learn. Do some research and find
out if you were right or the other person was right. If you were wrong admit
it and thank them. If after researching it you still believe you are right
call them on it and defend yourself with facts but always be prepared to be
proved wrong.
