QuickBooks 2008 and Microsoft Mail interaction

I use QuickBooks 2008, and Vista Home Premium. Whenever I access a customer
in my QuickBooks database, I get a pop-up saying "Windows Mail can compact
the message store. This may take up to a few minutes". If I don't click OK
(which is a pain), I will get a "server busy" error from QuickBooks when I
try to go into the next customer. The pop-ups are making me crazy! Help!

Bob, I also use QB2008 and I'm always getting the "Windows Mail" message. If
I click on cancel the message goes away and then comes right back, I have a
hard time getting rid of the message or it tells me the server is busy, if I
click on ok the green action bar shows up for a short period of time, and
then pretty soon it give me the same message. How can you just get rid of
the darn thing?

Does it help to start Windows Mail, then immediately exit from it, then
approve compaction? That should get the QB2008 program out of
the way if it has any effect on the problem.

What does QuickBooks customer support say to do about it?
Presumably you paid them good money for that program, which includes
support.

"Shirley": I received this message for a long time and kept ingoring it .
then one day I opened my computer and went to my e-mail and it had been
changed even though I never authorized it. How can I get back the classic
e-mail where I can see the old version

I'm having the same problem with the "Windows Mail" message. It only started
about a week ago so I am assuming it had something to do with an update. It
is a pain and I've been having intermittent problems with Quickbooks ever
since the "Windows Mail" message started appearing.

Does this problem also happen with apps other than QuickBooks?
If not, this problem should be referred to a QuickBooks user forum.

It's difficult to tell. I have QuickBooks open at all times. I also use
Quicken. I'll try to keep track for the next few days and see exactly what
I'm doing when I get the "mail" message.

When the error message pops up, right-click on it, copy, then paste
it into a reply here.

So, did anyone find a solution to this? First of all, I don't know what I'm
agreeing to when I click "ok". Second, it's only a temporary solution
because the next time I go into QB, it comes up again. Please let me know if
there's an answer or I'll get on it and post what I can discover.

This would appear to be a QuickBooks problem rather than a Windows
Mail problem. I suggest consulting a QuickBooks user forum.

I'm having the same exact problem and it is causeing problems with my
quickbooks as well! I will try a quickbooks forum and if I find a solution I
will post it!
