Although the message 'Saving settings' is displayed when XpSp3 is shut down
the fact the new toolbar and quick launch toolbar do not reappear when the
system is started again.
The desktop takes on the 'icons aligned by grid' therefore the recycle bin
is relocated into the top left column. Neither of these conditions have been
my practise. This just started the other day.
At the moment I just reinstate the Quick Launch and my own toolbar that has
shortcuts stored in it.
I have checked the KB and have not found an article that fits this since its
not the whole desktop and the systray is in place. The desktop is not in the
Web look but a modified Xp view.
Previous to this loss of toolbars on loading I did reset Internet Explorer 7
because a warning popped up that msoe.dll would not load and OE6 was not
operating. That just put IE7 back to original.
I have checked the repairs at Kelly's corner site and I'm not quite sure
which to use.
Its not a big deal to replace the toolbars each time but I'd like to know
why they are not loading.
