Quick Launch Toobar doesn't load on startup in Windows XP Pro

The quick launch tool bar is installed and working. I can start it from the
Task
Bar, but when I shut down my computer, it doesn't seem to save the setting.
It has worked for years, but now I have to manually start the Quick Launch
tool bar after I boot up. I have two other user profiles on this computer
and they both work fine, and load on startup. Any ideas? Have tried
deleting the Quick Launch tool bar, and creating a new one, but iit didn't
help. This occurred around the time I installed PC Tools Spyware Doctor so
I did a System Restore back to before I installed it and it made no
difference. I also followed MS bulletin 55525, but it didn't fix the problem
either.

I am not certain about the solution on Kellys-korner - does this mean I
should add the lines to the registry, as none of them exist now?

Yes, just right-click the _link_ to the file, save to the Desktop, then
double-click the file. It should be merged into the registry. If not,
right-click the file, click Merge.

Merged the file (lines) into the registry, re-booted and then opened the
Quick Launch toolbar, the re-started and the problem still persists.

What brand of computer?

I had the same problem with my HP computer. Nothing worked until
I downloaded some update fixes from HP. After that the quick
launch worked normally.

There doesn'nt seem to be anything in the plus version that deal with the
issue. What might be helpful is if I new which dll or exe file lauches the
quick task toolbar. Obviously, something is preventing this file from
loading or being saved in the my user profile.

Maybe a permissions problem.. or software blocking changes to that
portion of the registry. Do you have Spybot's TeaTimer running? If so,
and it prompted for a change to the Taskbar and you clicked "Disallow",
and "Remember this setting", that could prevent it from being written to
the registry. Just one example of what some software could do.

I have a Gateway GT 5028. I've tried running the file from line 30 -
kellys-korner but it do anything to help. There are a couple of lines of
keys that have no values, so I really don't know what it is supposed to do.
