Quick Launch taskbar display

I like to use quick launch to make available my most frequently used
applications and files. By default, the first three icons are displayed
directly on the taskbar, anything over that, are placed on a list which is
invoked by the click on a double-arrow icon. The question here is; is there
any way to change the default number of icons that are displayed directly on
the taskbar? Say I'd like to increase it to 5, or 6.

Thanks for any input.

Who figures this kinda thing out, anyway???

Right click on the taskbar and uncheck the "Lock the Taskbar" selection.

This will enable you to make the quick launch area larger by dragging the
vertical bar that now appears to the right of the icons.

I also make the task bar 3 lines high so that I can see all the date and
time information at once, and all the open programs. I do have a 19" LCD so
that helps.

Once the quick launch area is the size you require, lock the taskbar again.

I have 27 shortcuts setup in this area.

I too am having problems with the taskbar! I have tried unlocking it -
resizing it to 2 lines high (also on a 19" monitir) - relocking it. That's
fine until I close down the pc. When i reboot - the taskbar has returned to
its normal size AND it also displays the language bar which I keep turned OFF!

Any thoughts??
