Quick Launch Programs

I have some icons that load in my quick launch tab that I don't want there. I
have to exit the programs in the tab to get rid of them and have them on
always hide status. For example, my daughter downloaded a program with the
google taskbar which I didn't want. I removed it, but still have that darn
google icon down there on the bottom right. I can't get rid of it. It doesn't
even show in the properties page. Can I keep programs from loading down
there? It is really slowing down my computer.

Some you can right click and select Settings and uncheck "start up" (e.g. MSN
Messenger). Others you can remove from the the Startup folder. If you right
click on the Start button and select "Open All Users" it will open to program
folder that will show your Start/All Programs list. If you create a
folder/(name it) and place it in there, it will show on your All Programs
list. It's a good place to store all unwanted Shortcuts and unwanted Startups
for that just in case I need them or want them again. Then it's just a
Drag&Drop back on or in All Programs list.

I've uninstalled googles desktop & toolbar from Add/Remove first thing after
reformatting Computer. So I can only say that you'll have a googles desktop
folder left after uninstalling in your Run > C:\Program Files
