Hi,
How many folks here use basic diagnostics for their box building?
When I assemble new box, first thing I do is, measure all the voltages
with meter and run diag. and soak memtest86 for over night B4 doing
anything. When all looks well, then I start loading OS or whatever.
And then soak the system with system loader(something like Sandra burn
wizard) for 24 hours. Isn't this the way it should be instead of rushing
everything and having problems to waste time?

Can't fault you for your sense of discipline there. Me, I just want to play
with the new toy. Point well taken though.

I only burned systems in when I worked for a VAR.

When for myself -- nothing.

When for friends, simplistic tests to exercise the system. Certainly nothing
like a walking bit RAM test.
